This is my precious son sharing what home is to him. Take a look and post your own video – we want to hear from you!

So, What’s Next?
No doubt about it: job loss affects every aspect of your life whether you are an athletic or the family. Ranging from financial to social to physical to emotional. A job loss hurts! You really liked the people you worked with and will miss them. It’s very lonely being by your self all day. Your job was a way to show the world your independence and the ability to take care of yourself and family. My job was my future, so, what’s next?
A Contest!
As part of the launch for Until We All Come Home, a little video contest is running. This is going to be fun and the prize is a Kindle! Here’s what you need to do: Use your webcam to create a video telling what home means to you. Your script is: “Hi. I’m _______________ and […]
A Reason To Write
I’ve recently acquired and read a pre-release copy of a forthcoming book. Until We All Come Home will be released November 6, two days after Orphan Sunday. It’s an exceptional read; I’ll be posting a review soon, but in the meatime you can hear from the author herself. Kim de Blecourt’s full post entitled “Why […]

The sunrise has been beautiful this week; it has stunned me and moved me to marvel at God’s creation. As I watch the sun blazing as a red-orange sphere only just inches above the horizon, I’m inspired that I’ve been given another day…a new day to do things right…a new day to enjoy…a new day […]
Couldn’t Have Said It Better
I recently attended a conference about multi-ethnic ministry, which included a few sessions about how to minister well to the multi-ethnic family. Expect some forthcoming posts around that topic. In the meantime, I stumbled upon this post, from Jen Hatmaker. It’s a great place to start. (Thanks, Jen, for your permission to re-post!) Enjoy […]
Self-Righteous Humanitarianism? I Think Not
I recently commented on a question posted online. The question was, “What are you doing to spread the word about the orphan crisis?” It was a contest. The winner would receive a t-shirt meant to help bring awareness to the orphan crisis. That’s not why I commented. My husband is the shop manager of a […]
In The Trenches
I recently received an email from our adoption case worker. It was an email of encouragement to her families “in the trenches”. We always love to hear from her, and this particular message not only encouraged, as it was meant to do; it made me think…about “the trenches”. “In the trenches” is a military term. […]
